CONQUERING ADVERSITY THROUGH JOY

Ragan Morris

At just 14 years old, Ragan’s life changed forever when she sustained a traumatic brain injury. The road to recovery was long and difficult. She had to relearn how to walk and speak, but Ragan’s determination never wavered. Today, she’s not just rebuilding her life—she’s thriving, and inspiring others along the way.

Since recovering and graduating from high school, Ragan has worked at The Country Club of Birmingham for the past three years in their child watch program. She says the best part of her job is the children. “I enjoy getting them as babies and watching them grow,” she says with a smile.

When she’s not at work, Ragan loves spending time with her cats, playing brain games, and working out. But one of her favorite parts of the week is attending ourHOME Socials, where she’s built lasting friendships and found a true sense of belonging. “I’ve met so many people at the socials and look forward to them every week,” she says. “We have so many things in common. I love playing games and socializing, especially when I win an intense game of UNO!”

Looking ahead, Ragan dreams of becoming a motivational speaker. Her goal? To encourage others to never give up, no matter how tough life gets. “Things will get better if you keep going and fight through it,” she says.

Ragan’s story is a powerful reminder of resilience and hope—and a perfect example of what makes ourHOME so special. “I would encourage anyone to get involved,” she says. “It’s such a fun place to meet and connect with others.”

We’re so proud to have Ragan in the ourHOME family—thank you for inspiring us all to keep going and believe in what’s possible.
